Disabled Filmmakers Hit the Big Screen

~ March 2nd, 2008

From Friday 18th - Sunday 20th April, Wolverhampton will host their first Disability Film Festival. The festival will showcase both feature-length and short films created by disabled filmmakers across the globe. There will be an interesting mix of works on show, from old archive films to an indian biopic of classical dancer Sudha Chandran… and everything in-between.

Festival Coordinator Paul Darke said:

This is an exciting opportunity for the city of Wolverhampton to see the work and ability of world-class disabled and deaf filmmakers from the region and around the world.

Now, Wolverhampton wouldn’t naturally be the place I’d choose to spend a spring weekend, but with free admission and most of the screenings being free of charge, it may well be too good an opportunity to miss.
