Short break victory for EDCM

Every Disabled Child Matters (EDCM) have announced some good news today. The government have responded to the campaign for short breaks to help support families with disabled children. They have created a new legal duty for local authorities to provide the short breaks.

EDCM have reported that although this is a breakthrough, it doesn’t go quite as far as creating a right to short breaks for individual families but they are going to continue campaigning.
